Choose a sound or a station type, then inspect a listing before pressing Play. A genre tag is a contributor’s description of the station, not a live playlist. Broad labels such as rock and jazz may include narrower styles, and tags such as news or community describe something different from a music genre.

Read the counts before comparing them

Directory snapshot, refreshed periodically. Captured 2026-11-01 (UTC), revision 1587, from a directory with 67,921 enabled listings. This table covers 22 selected search labels; it is not an inventory of every language or genre in the world.

Counts use the same directory search rule as the Spanish-language and jazz collection totals: a case-insensitive substring match in the genre tag field, counting a listing once per query. For example, jazz includes smooth jazz; these rows must not be added together. A record can match several rows. These are listings, not unique broadcasters, listeners or streams confirmed to play.

Tags are supplied by contributors and may be missing, misspelled or broad. Counts describe the directory’s labels, not a measured share of radio programming or a ranking of music popularity. The linked API response may change after the dated snapshot; numbers are not fetched live while you read this page.

Use broad genres without losing the details

A station tagged jazz may also be labelled classical, soul or eclectic. Open its station details to read all available tags and the source of any dated check. A familiar genre name alone does not establish its current programme. The jazz guide includes examples backed by eight-second HTTPS decode records.

Sources and refresh method

Counts come from the public Roam Radio directory API using the per-row query links above. Directory records come from Radio Browser, IPRD, WebradioDB and operator-maintained entries; see source credits. A refresh reads the catalog revision before and after all count queries and rejects a mixed-revision snapshot. Check dates for the examples are retained separately from the directory snapshot date.
